It is a great pleasure and privilege to introduce our new school, King Henry VIII College, to you.
These few pages of words and images on our new website can only touch on the scale, ambition, and excitement of this wonderful educational venture.
King Henry VIII College is a new school, but one with a history that stretches back more than 450 years. Our sister school, Christ College, Brecon in the U.K. was famously founded in 1541 by Henry VIII, whose name will grace this new school in Malaysia.
King Henry VIII College is a co-educational boarding and day school, with pupils from 3 to 18 years of age.
Visitors to Christ College in Brecon invariably comment on the special atmosphere there, and the heartfelt warmth of the welcome they receive. This is something that we are recreating in Malaysia: an ethos that is built on the long, proud history of Christ College.
Although King Henry VIII College will be a larger institution than its Welsh twin, we are ensuring that the same strength of relationships, characterised by confident mutual respect, tolerance, and encouragement is at the core of the school. Each individual student's interests, skills, and needs are recognised and catered for.
We have already begun reciprocal visits and exchanges between the two schools, and will expand these in the future, along with shared learning experiences for students in various year groups.
Working closely with families, our expert teachers are collaborating to produce young people who are ready to go out into the world, to be kind, thoughtful members of their communities, ready to contribute and to make a difference - wherever that might be.
I do hope that you enjoy this taster of what life will be like in our new school, which we very much hope will be your child’s new school, too. We look forward to meeting you!
