Our teachers are predominantly from the United Kingdom, delivering all the core subjects through the medium of English. We also have teachers from the USA, Canada, South Africa, to name a few. Local teachers that provide the compulsory Malaysian and language subjects are also all fully qualified.

Tom Sishton graduated from the University of Reading in 2016 with a degree in Film, Theatre and Television Studies.

Having graduated Tom begun his first career working in television in the UK. As part of his role as a graphics operator he worked on many professional sports such as rugby, football and cricket, often covering international level matches for international broadcasters.

Since moving on from his role in television Tom begun his career in education, teaching at a comprehensive catholic school in Reading where he is a teacher of English and subject leader for Media Studies. As an English teacher he has taught from KS3 to KS5 and assisted in curriculum design. As subject leader for Media Studies he is responsible for all teaching and learning for the A Level subject.

Tom is a passionate sportsman and has coached both rugby and football in school as well as involving himself in drama productions which is another of his passions.

James Thayer graduated from the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a Bachelor of Arts in English and went on to complete his Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language at The Pennsylvania State University. He additionally attained a Secondary English Language Arts teaching Certification from the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence.

James has a wide range of experience both in America and internationally. At Pennsylania State University, he taught and tutored undergraduate and graduate courses. After leaving America, James also taught language proficiency courses at a private primary school in Lopburi, Thailand. Prior to coming to King Henry VIII, James taught culture, language, literature, and linguistics courses at a private university in Malaysia. James is currently teaching language and literature at the King Henry VIII senior school.

Harani was educated at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) with First Class Honours. As a fresh graduate, Harani embarked on her teaching career after her successful internship period with KH8 and currently serves as an EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher in the Senior school.

In addition to her role as an EAL teacher, Harani is actively involved in the Boys Boarding team.

Harani's passion for equal opportunities and discipline in education drives her to motivate and inspire her diverse classroom of non-native English speaking Asian students. With her leadership experience in a charity club during university, Harani demonstrates her commitment to holistic student development and success.

Alyssa Iman

Alyssa Iman is a graduate of Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia, where she obtained a Bachelor of Education degree with a specialization in English Studies, and a minor in English Literature. She is currently pursuing a Master of English Studies at a local university.

She has been teaching English Language, English Literature, and Humanities subjects (History and Geography) for over 15 years. Alyssa has recently taken on a new and rewarding role as an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher at King Henry VIII College. Throughout her career, she has also held various managerial positions, including Head of English Department, Head of Communications, and Academic Coordinator for the Secondary School.

Alyssa is a certified teacher in the Quantum Learning in Teaching (Q-Lit) programme, a brainchild of the globally recognised and well-established Quantum Learning Network (QLN).

Nancy began her formative education at AES Tring Park, a performing arts school, and later pursued drama and art in college. After successfully raising five children, she founded the Abbey Montessori Nursery School, where she honed her expertise in child development and created a nurturing learning environment. Nancy then transitioned to supporting families and teaching adults for the local UK government.

JNancy and her family have lived and worked in Africa, New Zealand, the UAE, Singapore, and Malaysia, which broadened their cultural horizons and provided them with global perspectives. An advocate for lifelong learning, Nancy will be joining KH8 from her current role at a higher education college and university centre in the UK, where she has been teaching and assessing in the Childcare and Education, and Health and Social Care department

Julie Bray graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Languages and Applied Linguistics from Griffith University, Queensland, Australia. She also completed a PGCEi from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

For the past ten years, Julie has worked in Thailand and Malaysia and she has taught across Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. Previous roles have included English Language and Literacy Curriculum Coordinators, and a Primary English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher. Currently she is the Primary School English as an Additional Language (EAL) Lead.

Leon Dixon-Chen graduated from the University of the West of England, Bristol, with a First Class (Hons) degree in Mathematics. He then completed his PGCE with the Institute of Education, London,which has now amalgamated with University College London (UCL).

He went on to teach mathematics at Harris Academy, St. John’s Wood for over 4 years before then moving onto Chelsea Academy, where he enhanced his teaching abilities to educate inner-city London students. He later joined King Henry VIII College, Malaysia to teach mathematics in July 2019, where he has honed his expertise in teaching at an international level.

Leon’s extra-curricular passions lie in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular sporting activities such as football and basketball. This has been translated in his past and present experiences in coaching students in various disciplines of sport; volleyball being his most recent venture. He is also an avid gym enthusiast, often running co-curricular activities which focus on strength & technique. Establishing his work as an educator has allowed him to equip students with the skills to become well-rounded global citizens.

Arif holds a (B. Eng. (Hons)) degree from UTM, and embarked on his teaching career focusing on Mathematics and Physics in the IGCSE Level. Concurrently, he pursued his (M.Eng) at UM and was accepted into a PhD program in 2019. Alongside his doctoral studies, Arif has served as a Graduate Research Assistant, Co-supervised undergraduate students, and authored publications in international journals and proceedings.

With a robust background encompassing six years of teaching, he has extensive experience in both the National and Cambridge International Curriculum. His current teaching areas cover the A , AS and IGCSE Levels.

Arif prioritizes students and advocates for personalized, enriched education, offering diverse opportunities for holistic development.

Josh graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, and went straight into the education sector in the United Kingdom, completing his PGCE with QTS at the University of Cumbria. He specialises in mathematics, and has taught this at KS3, 4, and 5; he has also taught a number of other subjects over the past 4 years, including Spanish and PE.

Josh is an avid sportsman, competing, coaching and participating in many different sports including sailing, football and boxing. He also takes a keen interest in STEM, and has helped with the running of Crest Awards, as well as working toward gold STEM accreditation at his previous school. Josh looks forward to bringing his knowledge and passion for mathematics to the senior school at KH8.

Alex Tuck graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a Batchelor of Science Degree. After living in the United States for a short period of time Alex then returned to the UK completed his Postgraduate Degree (with QTS) in teaching specialising in Mathematics at Edge Hill University.

In the UK, Alex has taught in West Norfolk, teaching Mathematics to both KS4 and KS5 students for six years. During his time there, Alex has had the privilege of mentoring trainees as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and coordinating Additional Mathematics for the West Norfolk Academies Trust. Alex is an extremely passionate sportsman, having played football at a semi-professional level and has coached both KS4 and KS5 football teams. Having accepted a position at KH8, Alex will be teaching Mathematics to both KS4 and KS5 students".

James was educated in the U.K., where he studied Environmental Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire. After a successful career in Environmental Consultancy and Field Ecology, James transitioned to education, pursuing a PGCE in Science Education at Liverpool Hope University.

He Has been teaching for 15 years of which 7 years have been in Malaysia. Within this time he has held a wide range of leadership roles such as Student Voice Coordinator, Data Lead, Head of KS3, Head of Biology and Head of Sixth Form.

Spencer Cheng was educated in London and read Chemistry at the University of Manchester. After a long and successful career in the electronics industry, he decided to pursue his long-held teaching aspirations and trained to be a teacher in 2002. He taught for many years in Hampshire and Dorset before coming to Malaysia in 2013. He has led Chemistry departments for over a decade and delights in the academic successes of his students. Spencer is a keen traveller and has been to nearly a hundred countries.

Corinne Smit is an experienced secondary school teacher specialising in Biology, with 17 years of teaching experience. After working in South African schools for five years, Corinne embarked on an international teaching journey. Her rich international teaching background has provided her with valuable insights into diverse educational systems and teaching methodologies. Corinne has been living in Malaysia for two years.

Passionate about creating inclusive and engaging learning environments, Corinne believes in student-centred education. Edward was educated at the University of Southampton with focus on sustainable fuel cell catalytic technology. He moved to Myanmar after graduation, spending three years teaching in international schools. During this time he also worked with the World Wildlife Foundation on waste water pollution in the Ayerwaddy river.

Now in his fifth year of teaching, he has a strong focus on students mastering core ideas and working collaboratively to develop understanding and appreciation of higher order concepts. His priorities are ensuring that all students feel able to succeed, are constantly engaged in developing their own understanding and develop a mindset of curious academic exploration, seeing chemistry not as an exam to pass but as a lens through which they can observe the world.

Aziz was educated in the U.K., where he studied Astrophysics, specialising in Cosmology. He also worked as a Research Scholar at the Ritter Observatory Astrophysics Research Centre, where he worked with a team who discovered the first extragalactic Extended Red Emission.

He has been teaching for over two decades and has spent half his teaching career in leadership roles such as Head of Physics and Head of Science. As an international teacher, he has spent the last five years in Malaysia due to how amazing living in Malaysia is.

He is always focused on bringing positive value added to all students and improving academic performance. He enjoys using student-focused activities to support and challenge student problem-solving and practical skills and encouraging critical thinking based on logic and reason.

He believes in celebrating diversity since a happy, improving, actively involved internationally minded student benefits the family and the wider community.

Mathias Adjigblie is a trained, experienced Science Educator who graduated from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, in 2015. Before moving to Malaysia, he has served as the Physics Teacher at a premiere school in KSA. He currently holds a Bachelor of Education in Science, a Diploma in Basic Education, as well as a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

His teaching career spans over a period of 12 years, from Ghana, and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mathias has taught in various stages to students of variable age brackets. He has served in various roles such as Assistant Volleyball Coach, Patron of the Writers' Club, Administrative Assistant and Staff Secretary. He is both a competent individual in his assigned duties, and an equally efficient team-player

Prisca earned her bachelor’s degree from Trinity Western University and her master’s degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in drawing and painting from California State University, Fullerton. In 2013, she won the Alliance Art Tribute grant to study the art of the Renaissance under Professor Domenic Cretara in Florence, Italy.

Prisca’s artistic practice includes drawing, painting, video, photography, and sculpture. 

Her work has been shown in 13 of the 50 American States and internationally in France, Italy and Canada. Notably, her work was shown at Schomburg gallery in Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, the Pomona Museum of Art, and is part of the private collection of the AHA Development Group Inc., in Newport Beach, CA.

Prisca is experienced in teaching Arts from EYFS all the way through GCSE and A-Levels Art. Prior to joining KH8, Prisca taught in primary schools and universities. She is passionate about instilling art appreciation and promoting creativity within her students.

Sam Mulliner

Sam originates from Berkshire, England and has been performing in choirs, bands and musical ensembles from the age of 4. He has performed with groups such as the award-winning Berkshire Youth Choir and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, as well as with brass bands, wind bands, orchestras and rock bands. After specialising in conducting and performance at Cardiff University, Sam became a classroom music teacher whilst continuing to develop his passion for performance. He has taught in schools throughout the UK and in 2011 moved to China to work at an international school in Qingdao before leading music and arts education in a number prestigious schools throughout China.

Sam has a particular love for musical theatre. He has performed in orchestras for a number of West End productions and has musically directed shows such as “Sister Act”, Little Shop of Horrors”, “Sweeney Todd”, “We Will Rock You”, “Oliver!” and “Guys and Dolls”. Sam recently directed the premiere performance of “In Holland Stands a House”, a new musical that he had written for Key Stage 4 and 5 students and has recently been working on a brand new musical that he co-write based on the story of Peter Pan. Outside of music, Sam enjoys cooking, playing basketball, disc golf and squash, working with technology and playing games with his cats. He is excited to help develop a passion for the arts within students within King Henry VII and help the school become a world leader in arts education.

Elaine Foster is an arts educator and theatre maker from Malaysia and the UK. She is particularly interested in how arts education can be used across the school curriculum. She founded the arts education platforms My Poetry School and Poetry Cafe KL, through which she has taught in numerous national, private, and international schools across Malaysia and Singapore, facilitating poetry, storytelling and drama workshops. Over the years, Elaine has given talks on the use of poetry in education, performed her poetry at various literary events, organised youth literary arts events and has hosted her own radio show on Malaysia’s BFM.

Elaine is a caring, energetic, and empowering mentor and advocate for young people. She believes that we are all lifelong learners and is always looking for an opportunity to improve her skills and knowledge through continuous professional development in order to better serve the students she teaches. She is currently pursuing a postgraduate certificate in D education (PGCE), with a focus on using drama-based education in secondary school PSHCE teaching and learning.

A dedicated music educator with over 12 years of experience, she has taught classroom music and instrumental piano in international schools in Brunei and Qatar.

Stefanie believes in cultivating a dynamic learning environment that promotes lifelong learning, embraces 21st-century skills, nurtures collaborative abilities, and encourages creativity. Her teaching pedagogy aims to instill in students a curiosity and passion for music that extends beyond the classroom, fostering a journey of musical exploration, creative expression, and growth. After completing a Diploma in Photography in 1993, Gerry worked in commercial photography in Australia and Scotland before going to university to study toward his BA. Gerry taught photography for 10 years in Scotland including a year’s sabbatical in teaching EAL in Japan. He moved to Kuching in Sarawak in 2011 where he worked toward his MA specializing in documentary.

Outside of photography and filmmaking Gerry enjoys music composition and songwriting as well as meeting new people and exploring new places. He has a passion for working with young people and encouraging them to be creative and finding their individual creative voice.

Rachel was educated in the UK and was Head of Physical Education for 7 years at a Girl’s Grammar School in Kent. After this she moved to Sydney, Australia for 5 years where she worked as a School Sports Coordinator, directing and developing sport, coaches and teams within the schools.

Rachel has worked in Malaysia for 5 years and enjoys learning about the different cultures and experiences gained from working in an international school setting.

Born and raised in Mtunzini, South Africa, amidst the natural beauty of a game reserve, Cass developed a deep passion for sports and education from an early age. Her journey in education began as a sports specialist in the United Kingdom, where she ignited students' enthusiasm for physical activity and its benefits. This path led her to Malaysia, where she taught primary sports, followed by enriching years in New Zealand, broadening educational horizons in multicultural settings.

Cass is an avid sports enthusiast with achievements of national standing on two occasions. Cass’ primary teaching goal is to inspire students, fostering excitement about learning and showcasing the myriad opportunities where they can apply their skills to enrich their lives.

Beyond the classroom, her interests as a conservationist drive her to protect and appreciate the natural world. Having graduated from Bedford College, Richard taught for 12 years in Suffolk teaching GCSE PE and English. Richard has always wanted to teach a range of different curriculums overseas and to work with students from differing backgrounds and cultures. Since 2004 Richard has taught in The Bahamas, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Qatar and Kazakhstan and believes that the best is yet to come at King Henry VIII College!

In his roles as Head of PE and Director of Sport, Richard believes very strongly in a "Sport for All" ethos; where students are encouraged, engaged and extended to develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity. Stewart has 25 years of experience in a variety of educational roles. He has worked as a classroom teacher, a counselor, Head of Boarding and Deputy Head. He worked at Harrow International School for 10 years as their Head of Water Sports and the International Award. He then went on to establish the Boarding program at SISB (Singapore International School Bangkok.) Since then, Stewart has worked in leadership positions as the Head of Boarding at Uplands, Malaysia and Deputy Head at WeLearn Academy, Bangkok.

Stewart is excited to take up the Head of Boys Boarding at KH8. He is a firm believer in the importance of character building in the education of a young person. His goal is to provide boarders with outstanding opportunities to practice the skills of independence, leadership, and teamwork.

With 10 years of teaching experience, Sam has previously held significant roles as a Co-Curricular Activities Coordinator in whole school settings. Within her time of teaching, Rania has also held positions as school counselor, HoD, and administration consultant and project leader at Copenhagen municipality, Children and Youth department.

He has been teaching for 17 years of which 6 years have been in Malaysia.Within this period of time he has held some leadership roles like CAS Coordinator in a large prestigious IB school in the Netherlands and Head of History in his most recent employment in a highly reputable Sixth Form College within Malaysia.

She has taught in various international schools in Brunei, China, Timor Leste and Malaysia and has taken leadership roles in the schools she worked in. She taught Geography, Economics, Business Studies and History in various curriculums including IB DP, Cambridge AS and A Levels, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge O Levels and Key Stage 3 British curriculum.

She has also taken an active role in providing after school activities like team building, cooking and baking, arts and craft as well as organising events like the Business Fair and off-site school trips like the IGCSE Geography Field Trip and supervising the U15 FOBISIA team in Thailand.

Sharina enjoys outdoor activities; having taken part in various marathons, triathlon, obstacle races, trail runs, outdoor camps and hikes. Her love for the outdoors has had an impact in the way she delivers her lessons. After working for the Toronto School Board in Canada, Mr. Francis has been teaching overseas in various international schools for the last 20 years. He has taught in schools in China, Korea, Thailand and most recently, Malaysia. With specialist qualifications in Secondary English and primary education, he has taught a variety of subjects at different levels including secondary English and EAL , history, geography and upper primary EAL. Over the last year he has also taken on the role of Year 5 class teacher at the King Henry VIII College.

Originally from Canada, Andrew has been teaching both KS1 and KS2 internationally over the past 12 years. He is in his third year of teaching and leading at King Henry VIII, currently holding the post of Year 6 Year Leader. He previously taught at Garden International School where he held the post of Primary Well-being Leader. Prior to this, Andrew spent a number of years in South Korea where he taught Year 3 and Year 5 at Dulwich College Seoul. Within his career, he has a range of middle leadership experience including Head of Humanities, Head of Integrated Curriculum and Year Leader.

J’Cee Mvusi graduated at the University of Pretoria with a Bachelor of education and honours in Educational psychology. Before coming to KH8, she worked at an early intervention centre where she was an Austim practicitoner at Blossom interventions. Here she was able to attain the skills of learning Makaton signs , be trained in Aba therapy and learn Prompt therapy which was able to assist in working with children who experience learning barriers such as Autism , Adhd, Cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. Her love for sports also led her to become a Physical education teacher at Irene primary school where she also became a teaching assistant for their Year 3 class , she was able to take over that class while the teacher was on maternity leave.

She spent three years living in Kenya, where she was appointed as the Head of Lower School, working at St Andrew's School, Turi. She later took additional qualifications allowing her to teach and support children with additional learning needs. Nicola is currently a Year 3 teacher at KH8.

Whilst in Kuwait he taught at two different schools before being appointed as a Key Stage 2 Deputy Head, a position he held for 3 years. Since leaving Kuwait he has taught in international schools in both Casablanca, Morocco and Cairo in Egypt as a class teacher and Head of Year.

She was a Trauma Counsellor and decided to further her education with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of South Africa.

Liezel taught in 6 countries, of which Malaysia is her 7th country, at various international schools across Asia, Northern Europe and Africa. She worked as a PYP 4 Teacher at an IB International school in Cape Town, South Africa prior to accepting the position at King Henry VIII College for Reception Year. Her two daughters have joined us at the school, currently in Year 1 and 2.

During her studies, Rebekah took a sabbatical year where she was the Vice President of Student Welfare in the Oxford Brookes Students’ Union.

In the UK, Rebekah has spent 5 years at a primary school in Oxford, teaching across Year 1 and Year 2 classes. Alongside her teaching role, Rebekah has been running the school dance club for 4 years, through which her students have reached the final of a national competition.

Charlotted returned to England from teaching in Ipoh in 2019 and qualified as a teacher. She has gained expereince teaching and supporting in all key stages, from Early Years to Key stage 2.

She has since taught all year groups in primary schools in Kenya, Fiji and most recently, Thailand. For the past four years she has taught in Year Two at an international school in Northern Thailand where she also worked as the Year Two Lead Teacher. Elaine has 10 years of international school experience teaching Cambridge, IPC (International Primary Curriculum) and the English National Curriculum as an Early Years and Year 1 Teacher. Before moving to Malaysia, she worked as an EAL and SEN co-ordinator in King’s School Manila, which was chartered by the British Schools Foundation. Elaine has been teaching in international schools in Johor, Malaysia since 2017.

Jeniva Ezra Bien graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with an emphasis in Piano and a minor in Voice (Magna Cum Laude). She also holds a Professional Certificate from Berklee College of Music and has completed certification courses in Piano Pedagogy and the Kodaly Method.

In the Philippines, Jeniva passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Secondary Level – MAPEH) and worked as a primary music teacher at a private institution, where she also directed the school’s choir.

Continuing her career in Singapore, Jeniva worked as a piano and music theory teacher in a music academy. In this role, she guided students in preparing for recitals and music exams, following the ABRSM and Trinity Syllabi. Additionally, she taught music exploration to young learners, incorporating the Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze methods into her teaching approach.

Nicole Gilbert is a graduate from the University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in English Language and Literature.

Nicole first discovered her passion for teaching at 22 years old. She has taught students from Year 1 to Year 6 with a main focus on English as an Additional Language. She strives to create an environment that is supportive and dynamic as a method of assisting young learners to discover their independence and empower them to achieve their full learning potential. She encourages every child to believe in themselves as they have the ability to achieve anything they set their mind to.

Outside of the teaching world, Nicole enjoys a range of sports, indulging herself in reading fantasy novels and dancing to her heart's content.

PHe has lived in Malaysia for 10 years, working in Penang and most recently, Rawang. He also worked in Rome for 2 years. He has experience as the Head of Houses and Head of Co-curricular Activities in previous roles. Kam Yin encourages students to take risks and use mistakes as an opportunity to learn.

Joanne joined us from Busy Bees global preschool ( The children’s house & Odyssey ) where she taught for 3 years and led the Mandarin Department team for 4 years. Joanne is passionate about creating a fun and attractive environment for her students when learning Mandarin. She believes that the use of technology enhances the student’s creativity and passion for learning languages. Outside school hours, Joanne enjoys cooking and travelling. She is delighted to be part of the King Henry Viii school and is looking forward to the exciting challenges that lie ahead.

For her first two years of teaching, Charlotte has been a Reception class teacher at a large and diverse Academy school. Here, she has enjoyed being a subject leader for Music, running choir and leading a weekly singing assembly. Charlotte is passionate about supporting children with EAL and SEND, using Makaton signing and visuals to create an inclusive environment. Prisca earned her bachelor’s degree from Trinity Western University and her master’s degree in Fine Arts with a specialisation in drawing and painting from California State University, Fullerton. In 2013, she won the Alliance Art Tribute grant to study the art of the Renaissance under Professor Domenic Cretara in Florence, Italy.

Prisca’s artistic practice includes drawing, painting, video, photography, and sculpture. Her work has been shown in 13 of the 50 American States and internationally in France, Italy and Canada. Notably, her work was shown at Schomburg gallery in Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, the Pomona Museum of Art, and is part of the private collection of the AHA Development Group Inc., in Newport Beach, CA.

Prisca is experienced in teaching Arts from EYFS all the way through GCSE and A-Levels Art. Prior to joining KH8, Prisca taught in primary schools and universities. She is passionate about instilling art appreciation and promoting creativity within her students.

Rachel has worked in Malaysia for 5 years and enjoys learning about the different cultures and experiences gained from working in an international school setting.

Rachel believes Physical Education and Sport are an essential part of the school, both in and out of lesson time. It is a key part of the school life to help develop physical, mental and important social skills with different individuals. It can develop teamwork, sportsmanship and an understanding of the body. With 10 years of teaching experience, Sam has previously held significant roles as a Co-Curricular Activities Coordinator in whole school settings. He is currently working towards the UK National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Leading Behaviour and Culture. Following this, he spent five years as Head of Year at Dulwich College Singapore. James then transitioned to Malaysia, taking on the role of Deputy Head (Curriculum) at POWIS Primary in Penang. For the past two years, he has been the Phase Lead and PYP Coordinator in Budapest, bringing a wealth of international experience and educational leadership to his current position.

Her journey in education began as a sports specialist in the United Kingdom, where she ignited students' enthusiasm for physical activity and its benefits. This path led her to Malaysia, where she taught primary sports, followed by enriching years in New Zealand, broadening educational horizons in multicultural settings.

Cass is an avid sports enthusiast with achievements of national standing on two occasions. Cass’ primary teaching goal is to inspire students, fostering excitement about learning and showcasing the myriad opportunities where they can apply their skills to enrich their lives.

Beyond the classroom, her interests as a conservationist drive her to protect and appreciate the natural world. Having graduated from Bedford College, Richard taught for 12 years in Suffolk teaching GCSE PE and English. Richard has always wanted to teach a range of different curriculums overseas and to work with students from differing backgrounds and cultures. Since 2004 Richard has taught in The Bahamas, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Qatar and Kazakhstan and believes that the best is yet to come at King Henry VIII College!

In his roles as Head of PE and Director of Sport, Richard believes very strongly in a "Sport for All" ethos; where students are encouraged, engaged and extended to develop a lifelong love of sport and physical activity. He is looking forward to working with all the stakeholders in the school to enrich the experiences of every child.

Stewart has 25 years of experience in a variety of educational roles. He has worked as a classroom teacher, a counselor, Head of Boarding and Deputy Head. He worked at Harrow International School for 10 years as their Head of Water Sports and the International Award. He then went on to establish the Boarding program at SISB (Singapore International School Bangkok.) Since then, Stewart has worked in leadership positions as the Head of Boarding at Uplands, Malaysia and Deputy Head at WeLearn Academy, Bangkok.

Stewart is excited to take up the Head of Boys Boarding at KH8. He is a firm believer in the importance of character building in the education of a young person. His goal is to provide boarders with outstanding opportunities to practice the skills of independence, leadership, and teamwork.
